Shirley Mohney is the owner of Island Kiddie Kampus and provides the leadership and vision behind the center’s commitment to quality childcare and early childhood education. She believes children benefit most from an environment where they feel safe, valued, encouraged, and free to learn through discovery and meaningful experiences.

Through her leadership, Island Kiddie Kampus remains focused on building strong relationships with families, supporting its educators, and providing children with opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

Cathy joined the Island Kiddie Kampus team in 2025 as Program Director, bringing more than 40 years of experience in early childhood education. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education with a major in Early Childhood Education and has earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Cathy is also a proud member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

She is certified in First Aid, CPR, Health and Safety, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Safe Sleep. Committed to lifelong learning, Cathy continues to earn professional development certificates through the Michigan Registry and the Child Care Education Institute (CCEI), ensuring she remains current with best practices in early childhood education.

Billy has been a dedicated member of the Island Kiddie Kampus team since 1996, serving as our Office Manager. With decades of experience in childcare administration, he plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our centers.

Billy has extensive knowledge of state and local childcare licensing policies and procedures and is responsible for overseeing key administrative functions, including billing, enrollment, classroom and staff scheduling, maintaining staff compliance, and overall classroom administration. His expertise and commitment help ensure that Island Kiddie Kampus operates efficiently while providing exceptional service to our families and staff.
